Throughout this semester I have learned many things that have helped improve my mediated communication and technology skills. Throughout each different project I learned a unique skill and how learned ways to manipulate programs that I have never used before. What I learned the most however, and what will stick with me throughout the future was the ability to use the audacity audio program and how to conduct a tutorial using screencast.
I had never used audio to any extent besides simple circumstances such as Imovie. I do enjoy listening to various podcasts though, so the process of how that audio was implemented and edited was always fascinating. Therefore for the final project I took it as a blessing that for an assignment I would learn how to cut and edit audio myself. The program looked quite difficult at first however throughout the following of the tutorial guide I had learned to use the program in no time and found little to no frustrations with it.
The other program that I learned how to use was screencast, along with uploading a screencast clip to youtube. Although I’ve used youtube for over a decade I have never uploaded something to the platform, so to learn this simple yet tedious skill was beneficial. In terms of the screencast program I found myself getting frustrated with it. However, just like the audacity program through following directions alongside trial and error I found myself mastering the skill within no time. This will be extremely beneficial for the future as I can now make tutorial videos using my laptop to then upload to the internet.
Throughout the duration of this class I have learned many skills that will help me throughout the future. These were just to name a couple, but now that I know how to create and run my own site I am comfortable building off of these basic skills in the future.
